The research project is an initiative of Thomas Fritzsche Architects from Shanghai (architecture) and EGS-plan from Bangkok (sustainability).
The Sustainable Office Tower provides modern office spaces on a gross floor area of 57,000 sqm and 32 floors. The high-performance façade is fully shaded by an external fixed shading system which blocks direct solar radiation but provides sufficient daylight and views. Core of the technical concept of the building are the chilled ceilings which are designed as elegant sails, hovering over the office workplaces and providing noiseless and comfortable cooling.
The building was designed with circular economy aspects in mind and the environmental footprint was optimized with an LCA). The LCC) are significantly lower in comparison to other green buildings in Bangkok due to the higher space efficiency and thus higher rental revenue. Schueco, ZentFrenger, Robatherm, and Pivot provided technical support and the project strives for a DGNB Platinum certification.
